The Rewards of Excellence

Annually, deserving students are bestowed with scholarships that open doors to limitless opportunities. These awards, ranging from $15,000 per year for in-state students and $25,000 per year for out-of-state students, are designed to meet your financial needs and empower you to focus on your education without unnecessary financial stress. Furthermore, the scholarship is renewable, provided that you maintain a GPA of 2.8 or above and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress towards your bachelor’s degree.


High school applicants who are U.S. citizens and have applied or been accepted to UMES are eligible to apply. Enrolling in one of the specified majors – General Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Environmental Science, or Human Ecology – and holding a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate with a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.8 reflects your dedication to excellence. If you’re a college applicant or transfer student, the same criteria apply, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8.
