The Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship is for Visually Impaired Students; this scholarshipwas established in 1991 for San Francisco State and San José State University students. After Mr.Schoettler’s death in 2001, the California State University received a $4.8 million bequest from his estateto expand the existing financial aid programfor legally blind studentsto all 23 CSU campuses.

Eligibility
- This award is Open to all continuing part-time undergraduate and graduate students in any majorfield and must remain enrolled in 6.1 units or more during the academic year in which the award isreceived.
- Have a visual disability and provide verification from a medical health professional, whichincludes the best corrected visual acuity notations. (Please note that the disability must be such thatit impedes the educational process and necessitates accommodations, support services, or programs.)
- 2.8 GPA
- Applicant must be legally blind
